A frequent performer in concert and opera, Marcos has appeared as a soloist with several important orchestras including the State of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestras of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo, Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, the Louisiana Philharmonic, the University of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Festival Opera Orchestra, Louisiana State University Orchestra, the Indiana University Opera Theater, among others .

Including a few of the tenor's highlight performances, 2003 marks Marcos' debut in Grand Opera as Don José in Bizet’s Carmen at the 6th Aldo Baldin Singing Festival in Brazil . Performances following his debut include the roles of Don José in 2004 at the Teatro da Paz Opera Festival in Belém, Brazil and 2005 performances of the role of Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. He appeared again as Don Jose in Carmen and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the 2006 and 2007 Indiana University Opera Theater seasons. 

In 2008 and 2009 Marcos performed a few of the best known roles in the operatic tenor repertoire, including performances of Verdi's Otello with the DuPage Opera Theater in Chicago and the Vero Beach Opera in Florida, Dick Johnson in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West with the Di Capo Opera Theater in New York City, Canio in I Pagliacci with the Augusta Opera in Augusta, Georgia, Des Grieux in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut with the Utah Festival Opera in Logan, Utah, and Turiddu in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana with the Mississippi Opera in Jackson, Mississippi.     

Marcos Aguiarholds a Bachelors degree in Music and Voice from Santa Marcelina College in São Paulo, Brazil, and a Masters Degree in Music from Loyola University in New Orleans.
