In 2008 Marcos Aguiar

 sang his first "Otello" with the DuPage Opera Theater and repeated the role with the Vero Beach Opera. He also appeared as Dick Johnson in "La Fanciulla del West" with the Di Capo Opera Theater, Canio in "I Pagliacci" with the Augusta Opera, and during the summer he sang the role of Des Grieux in Puccini's "Manon Lescaut" with the Utah Festival Opera in Logan, Utah.

   In 2003, as a winner of the 6th Aldo Baldin Vocal  Competition in Brazil, Marcos Aguiar was awarded his prize by principal judge Fiorenza Cossotto and embarked on his singing career.  This season, the Salt Lake Tribune wrote: "...Des Grieux, played by dynamic tenor Marcos Aguiar...in the gut wrenching aria 'No, pazzo son', Aguiar's voice becomes lean and primal, effectively communicating his anguish at the thought of loosing Manon..."
